Once you've set up monitoring on each service, it will be probed every five minutes to check if it's responding. If the service is down for more than for three checks in a row, you'll be sent an email letting you know so that you can investigate as soon as possible.
You'll also find that previous checks are stored, so once you're up and running you'll be able to view graphs for the last 24 hours, last 7 days, last month and all previous checks. You can also download the checks in XML format so that you can process them yourself if you wish.
