Whenever you register a domain name, your name, address, phone number and email address are automatically added to a global database called the WHOIS database. This is freely searchable by anyone - including spammers on the lookout for email addresses and fraudsters looking for identities to steal.
WHOIS Privacy protects you from potential identity theft and spam by hiding your contact details.
You'll still have full ownership of your domain as normal, but if someone performs a WHOIS search on your domain your personal contact details will be replaced by those of our privacy service to keep your identity protected. Here's an example:
The above example is for the UK Domain Name version of WHOIS Privacy. Your details will still be protected in a similar format with the Global Domain Name version if applied to a .com, .net, .org etc
We provide a WHOIS Privacy service for both UK Domain Names (.co.uk, .org.uk, .me.uk, .uk) and also another a privacy service for Global Domain Names (.com, .net, .org, .info, .biz).
