Pricing

The table above shows the minimum price per domain per year. This price can be more, depending on the domain name requested. The actual price for your domain will be shown when we display the availability page. Please be aware that the price you pay for registration will also apply to its renewal.

What does Pre-Registration mean?

Pre-registration means that you can place a request for the domain name you want before it is available to the general public. At the time the Registry opens the domain up for public registration we will submit your application.

Pre-registration does not guarantee that you will be successful in getting your requested domain name, but it does give you the best possible chance. In the event that we don't get the domain name you have applied for, we will give you a full refund, no quibble.

Overview

Instead of the normal .com or .co.uk on the end of a domain name you will start to see things like .London, .wales or .wiki to name but a few.

Domains will become more specific to your industry, interest, city or region enabling you to have a shorter, more meaningful domain name for your website or email.

Join the new domain name revolution and stand out from the crowd with the name that tells the whole world who you are, where you are and what you do.

FAQ

What is a TLD?

TLD stands for top-level domain - i.e. the right-most part in a domain name.

TLDs which have two letters have been established for over 240 countries and are referred to as 'country-code' TLDs or ccTLDs. e.g. .de or .fr

TLDs with three or more characters are referred to as 'generic' TLDs or gTLDs. e.g. .com or .net. All gTLDs are governed by ICANN (Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers) and it is ICANN who are responsible for the new programme to release the new gTLDs (sometimes referred to as nTLDs – the 'n' standing for 'new').

What are the benefits of registering a new gTLD?

Up to now there have only been about two dozen domain name extensions to choose from and getting the right one for your business is becoming more and more difficult. These new gTLDs will open up a new opportunity to get the domain you really want which says something about your business. The chances are it will be a shorter name which makes it easier for your customers to remember, and having a relevant domain extension will offer improved chances for higher rankings in search engine results.

In the event that we don’t get the domain name you have applied for, we will give you full refund, no quibble.

What do the various Launch Phases mean?

Each new TLD will go through three launch phases:

Sunrise

This is the first mandatory phase providing an opportunity for Trademark owners to protect their brand. This phase is only available to holders of a validated trademark record with the Trademark Clearing House (TMCH).

Start Date Sunrise – will last at least 30 days and must be announced at least 30 days in advance. This is run on a first come first served basis.

End Date Sunrise – will last for a minimum of 60 days with registrations being collected throughout that period, followed by an auction if more than one person has applied for the same domain name.

Landrush

This is the second phase of launch, following on from Sunrise, which some, but not all registries will be operating.

It is open to anyone, however registrations will be at a premium price. Typically a Landrush phase will last for 30 days and there is a potential for an auction process at the end for competing registrations.

General Availability

This is the final phase where registration is open to everyone, however registries must provide Trademark claims a 90 day period that provides protection to those registered with TMCH. Anyone trying to register a domain that matches a trademark term during this period will be notified, as will the trademark holder. The registrant will then be able to decide whether to proceed with the registration or not.

Why do you show a Minimum Price Per domain?

Some of the Registries running the new gTLDs have categorised domains. There can be up to 10 different categories per domain, category 1 being the most expensive and applying to what the Registry has deemed to be a valuable domain, to a category 10, being the least expensive, but still being deemed as being more valuable than the minimum price. When you do a domain search with Daily.co.uk we will show you exactly what your chosen domain will cost when we display the availability results to you. The price you pay for registration will also apply to renewal and transfer.

All prices exclude 20% VAT unless otherwise stated. All registered trademarks acknowledged. © Paragon Internet Group Ltd 2006-2015. Company Registration No.: 7573953
