Registrant Name information is checked against a database of 40 million electoral roll and business records.
These checks specifically look to match this information against the information you have put on your domain name.
There are two main reasons why your name may not be validated:
(i.e. domain names with the registrant type set to a 'company' rather than 'individual')
The name you put as the registrant name for your domain name must match exactly
as it is displayed on 'Companies House' (including any abbreviations or capitalisations).
You can check your Companies House records using the Online WebCheck
(i.e. domain names with the registrant type set to an 'individual' rather than a 'company')
The name you put as the registrant name for your domain name must match our checks. Most common reasons for a failure are a misspelled name, or a customer has put down a company/business name instead of an actual person's name
If you can see that you have an incorrect registrant name
for your domain name and you wish to update this, please do so in your MyDaily control Panel in the Updatre domain Contacts Section
If you believe your registrant name is already correct,
please reply and we can manually check this.
In most cases we will just need to see documented proof of your name from one of the below documents that you can scan and email to us (or fax):
- Passport (only applicable to domains registered to individuals
- Drivers' Licence
- National ID Card
- Recent Utility Bill from last three months
- HMRC Tax Notification from last three months
