Configuring an Apple iPhone - Old

This article will show you how to configure your iPhone to send and receive your Daily email.

Please note: Before you can configure any mail client to send/receive your email, you must have first actually created an email mailbox in your Daily Control Panel. If you have not done so already, please see the following article Creating Email Mailboxes

Important Note: If you will be checking your email using a mail client on a computer (e.g. Outlook, Thunderbird, Apple Mail etc.) as well as your mobile telephone, we strongly advise you to configure your computer mail client to check mail using IMAP rather than POP

Having a POP connection open on your computer at the same time as checking email on your mobile telephone may result in your mailbox becoming locked (though this is not an issue with having multiple IMAP connections open).

1) Select Settings.

2) Select Mail, Contacts, Calendars

3) Select Add Account...

4) Select Other

5) In the 'New Account' section, enter the following:

Your Name: The name you want to be displayed to people you email
Address: The email address you want to be displayed to people you email
Password: The mailbox password you assigned when you created the mailbox
Description: A description for your reference (we normally just use the email address again)

When finished, select Save

6) On the next screen, select IMAP then scroll down the page to the 'Incoming Mail Server' section

7) In the 'Incoming Mail Server' section, enter the following:

Host Name: pop.daily.co.uk
User Name: Your email address
Password: The mailbox password you assigned when you created the mailbox

On the Outgoing Mail Server settings the device will list the username and password as optional, however to use the Daily mail system these are required

8) Scroll down the page to the 'Outgoing Mail Server' section and enter the following:

Host Name: mail.daily.co.uk
User Name: Your email address
Password: The mailbox password you assigned when you created the mailbox.

When finished, select Save

Please note on the Outgoing Mail Server settings the device will list the username and password as optional, however to use the Daily mail system these are required

9) Go into your newly added mailbox to view your email. this is important as your iPhone needs to read the contents before you can proceed with the next steps. When all your email has downloaded, press your 'Home' button and go into Settings

Now just repeat steps 5 and 6 for the other two folders (Drafts and Deleted) and your phone will then save all future emails on the server instead.
